Penny Smoak Rosner is a native Charlestonian. She holds a BA in English from the University of SC and MA-ED in English from the Citadel/College of Charleston joint program. Penny taught college English for twenty-two years, including nineteen years at Coastal Carolina University. She is a two times past PTO president for Horry County Schools, assisted School Improvement Councils, and was a liaison between schools and district.  Penny served on the Board of Directors for the Grand Strand Humane Society and was instrumental in establishing a no-kill policy for city of Myrtle Beach homeless animals. She is a member of the SC Historical Society, Charleston Preservation Society, University of SC Alumni Association, the Gamecock Club, and lifetime member of Grand Strand Humane Society. She is an avid reader and traveler. Penny and her husband Dr. Daniel Rosner reside in Myrtle Beach. They have one son.
